AND I'M HERE REALLY ON BEHALF OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT, BUT WE ARE GOING TO TALK A LITTLE BIT ABOUT COMMUNITY ED AND THE SCHOOL DISTRICT. SO WHY DON'T WE GO TO THE FIRST SLIDE THERE? SO WHY AM I HERE? SO YOU HAVE PROBABLY HEARD THAT THE SCHOOL DISTRICT IS EXPERIENCING BUDGET CUTS AND THAT THIS REPRESENTS AFTER THIS YEAR, WILL BE $12 MILLION WORTH OF BUDGET CUTS IN THE LAST FIVE YEARS, WHICH IS OR IN THE PAST THREE YEARS, WHICH IS PRETTY SIGNIFICANT, AS YOU CAN IMAGINE, AND THAT YOU'RE USED TO BUDGET CUTTING. YOU KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE. YOU START TO CUT AND YOU FIND THOSE THINGS, THE LOW HANGING FRUIT FIRST, AND THEN YOU KEEP GOING DEEPER AND DEEPER. WELL, UNFORTUNATELY, THIS TIME AROUND, WE DID REACH A PLACE WHERE WE ARE HAVING TO CUT BACK ON THE MIDDLE SCHOOL SPORTS. AND SO I WANT TO TALK A LITTLE BIT FIRST ABOUT WHY THE BUDGET CUTS ARE HAPPENING. SO THE BUDGET CUTS ARE HAPPENING BECAUSE OF UNFUNDED STATE MANDATES. SO AN EXAMPLE OF THAT IS THE FAMILY MEDICAL LEAVE ACT WE'RE ALL FAMILIAR WITH WITH SCHOOL DISTRICTS, YOU CAN'T JUST TAKE A TEACHER OUT OF THE CLASSROOM. YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THAT TEACHER. SO SCHOOL DISTRICTS ARE STILL PAYING FOR THOSE TEACHERS OR THOSE STAFF THAT WORK WITH THE STUDENTS. AND SO THAT EXPENSE IS NOT ACCOUNTED FOR IN THE FAMILY MEDICAL LEAVE ACT. AND SO ULTIMATELY, WE ARE SEEING AN OBVIOUSLY AN INCREASED COST IN ORDER TO SUPPORT OUR STAFF, WHICH WE VERY MUCH WANT TO DO. BUT IT WAS AN UNFUNDED MANDATE THAT WE ARE EXPECTED TO FIND A WAY OF FUNDING. ANOTHER WAY IS LEGISLATIVE NEGATIVE, NEGATIVELY IMPACTING REVENUE. AND AN EXAMPLE OF THAT RECENT EXAMPLE OF THAT IS THAT THE STATE IS CUTTING FUNDING FOR SPECIAL NEEDS STUDENTS AND THAT, AS YOU'RE AWARE, THERE ARE LAWS ABOUT WHAT SCHOOL DISTRICTS PROVIDE FOR SPECIAL NEEDS [00:05:04] STUDENTS. AND THOSE HAVE NOT CHANGED. THEY'RE STILL THE RESPONSIBILITY THAT WE DO HAVE FUNDING PROVIDED BY THE STATE. SO THEREFORE, THE SCHOOL DISTRICT WILL BE USING MORE OF THEIR FUNDS TO SUPPORT THOSE NEEDS AS A RESULT, OR TO BACKFILL FOR THAT LOSS OF FUNDING. AND THEN THERE'S INFLATION AND RISING COSTS, WHICH I'M SURE WE'RE ALL VERY, VERY FAMILIAR WITH. AND THOSE ARE JUST A REALITY OF LIFE. SO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT COMMUNITY EDUCATION, JUST IN CASE YOU'RE NOT FAMILIAR, COMMUNITY EDUCATION IS A PART OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT, BUT WE ARE UNDER A SEPARATE BUDGET THAT OUR FUNDING AND THE REVENUE THAT WE GENERATE FROM OUR PROGRAMS STAYS WITHIN THE THE COMMUNITY BUDGET. AND THAT, OF COURSE, WE TRY TO KEEP OUR COSTS DOWN FOR OUR PARTICIPANTS BECAUSE WE WANT THEM TO BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE AND TO HAVE EQUAL ACCESS TO IT SO THAT ALL FAMILIES CAN AFFORD TO BE A PART OF OUR PROGRAMS. SO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT, BECAUSE WE PROVIDE SIMILAR PROGRAMING, AND I DID BRING OUR CATALOG. IF YOU'RE NOT FAMILIAR, I WILL LEAVE THESE HERE WITH YOU SO YOU CAN LOOK AT OUR SUMMER CATALOG. THAT'S JUST OUR SUMMER OFFERINGS THAT WE PROVIDE A LOT OF PROGRAMS VERY SIMILAR TO THIS. SO IT WAS EASY FOR THEM TO SAY TO COMMUNITY EDUCATION, HEY, COULD YOU TAKE THIS PROGRAM ON? WELL, OF COURSE WE CAN. WE'RE VERY, VERY FAMILIAR WITH RUNNING SPORTS. AND IF YOU LOOK IN THIS, YOU'LL SEE QUITE A FEW SPORTS REFERENCED IN HERE. THE CHALLENGE IS, IS THAT WE DON'T HAVE $150,000 SOMEWHERE THAT THE SCHOOL DISTRICT HAS BEEN SUBSIDIZING THIS PROGRAM TO THE TUNE OF $150,000 A YEAR. WE DON'T HAVE THAT POCKET OF MONEY. SO WE'RE TRYING TO FIND A WAY TO NAVIGATE THAT, BECAUSE IF WE WERE TO PASS THE TRUE COST ON, AND I'LL SHARE THIS WITH YOU LATER IN THE PRESENTATION, IT COULD BE PROHIBITIVE FOR SOME FAMILIES. SO WE'RE SEEKING PARTNERSHIPS TO HELP US SUSTAIN THE SPORTS. AND, AND SO CONSEQUENTLY WE'RE GOING TO MOVE ON TO THE NEXT SLIDE. I WANT TO SHARE WHAT OUR GOALS BECAME AS WE LOOKED AT THIS. SO FIRST WE WANT TO PROVIDE THE HIGHEST QUALITY MIDDLE SCHOOL SPORTS PROGRAM AT THE MOST REASONABLE COST. AND I WILL TELL YOU, I HAVE DUG INTO THIS PROGRAM OVER THE LAST SEVERAL MONTHS JUST TO SEE WHERE THERE ARE AREAS THAT WE COULD MAKE CUTS. HOW COULD WE REDUCE THE OVERHEAD? IT IS A LEAN, MEAN FIGHTING MACHINE. THEY ARE NOT PATTING THIS IN ANY WAY. I WOULD SAY, RIGHT, THAT THE STAFF, THE PERCENTAGE OF STAFF THAT ARE WORKING WITH THESE STUDENTS WERE KEEPING A 2020 TO 1 RATIO FOR THE MOST PART. AS YOU CAN IMAGINE, WHEN YOU'RE BUSY WITH MIDDLE SCHOOLERS AFTER SCHOOL, YOU NEED TO HAVE ENOUGH ADULTS TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERYTHING IS UNDER CONTROL. SO WE ALSO WANTED TO CREATE A BUDGET THAT INSURANCE ENSURES FINANCIAL STABILITY AND LONG TERM VIABILITY OF THE PROGRAM. SO I'VE RESEARCHED OTHER SCHOOL DISTRICTS BECAUSE THIS IS A COMMON THING TO HAPPEN IN SCHOOL DISTRICTS TO TURN OVER THEIR MIDDLE SCHOOL SPORTS PROGRAM TO COMMUNITY EDUCATION. SO I REACHED OUT TO THE SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES AND I ASKED THEM, HOW ARE THEY HANDLING THIS AND WHAT ARE THEY SEEING? AND ONE OF THE THINGS THAT THEY THAT THEY ARE SEEING IS A REDUCTION IN THE PROGRAMS THAT THEY'RE ABLE TO PROVIDE, THAT THEY'VE HAD TO REDUCE PROGRAMS THAT ARE EITHER PARTICULARLY EXPENSIVE BECAUSE OF THE TYPE OF PROGRAMING THAT'S BEING PROVIDED, OR THEY HAVE LOW INTEREST. AND WE DON'T WANT TO SEE ANY OF OUR SPORTS CUT. AND SO THAT LED ME TO THAT PLACE OF, OKAY, HOW DO WE BUILD IT? SO IT'S SUSTAINABLE BECAUSE WE DON'T WANT YOU TO BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE ONLY IN THE SPORTS THAT WE FIND FINANCIALLY, LET'S SAY EASY. WE WANT YOU TO BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SPORT THAT YOU'RE INTERESTED IN. SO WE'RE GOING TO PUT THE NEXT THE ROLE OF MIDDLE SCHOOL SPORTS, JUST TO GIVE YOU A LITTLE BIT OF BACKGROUND, AND I DON'T THINK ANY OF THE NEXT TWO SLIDES ARE GOING TO BE A SURPRISE TO ANYONE AT THIS TABLE OR ANYONE IN THE AUDIENCE, THAT THE ROLE OF MIDDLE SCHOOL SPORTS GO DEEP FOR SCHOOL DISTRICTS, THAT WE NOT ONLY RECOGNIZE THE BENEFITS IN THE SCHOOL DAY THROUGH THE ACADEMIC AND SCHOOL ENGAGEMENT, BUT THERE'S ALSO YOUTH DEVELOPMENT AND WELL-BEING. AS YOU CAN IMAGINE, STUDENTS THAT ARE ENGAGED IN HEALTHY ACTIVITIES AFTER SCHOOL ARE MORE LIKELY TO HAVE FRIENDS IN INDIVIDUALS THAT THEY CAN TURN TO WHEN THEY'RE EXPERIENCING STRESS. AND SO THIS REALLY PROMOTES MENTAL HEALTH AS WELL AS PHYSICAL HEALTH, HEALTH FOR THE STUDENTS. SO WE'LL GO TO THE NEXT SLIDE. SO I DID A LITTLE RESEARCH ABOUT WHAT IT DOES FOR OUR COMMUNITIES. AND THIS IS WHAT I CAME UP WITH FOR ME. BUT I IMAGINE THIS IS NOT ANYTHING TOO SURPRISING FOR YOU AS WELL. AND USUALLY WE GO TO PUBLIC SAFETY, RIGHT? LIKE HAVING KIDS ENGAGED IN SOMETHING HEALTHY AFTER SCHOOL IS GOING TO KEEP THEM DOING POSITIVE THINGS IN OUR COMMUNITY, RATHER THAN PERHAPS GETTING INVOLVED IN SOME THINGS THAT THEY SHOULDN'T. AND SO THAT ONE, I THINK IS PRETTY OBVIOUS, AND SOME OF THE OTHERS MIGHT BE OBVIOUS TO THE GENERAL CITY COUNCIL MEMBER. BUT JUST TO POINT IT OUT, IT DOES BUILD STRONGER COMMUNITIES. IT BRINGS OUR FAMILIES TOGETHER AND CREATES COMMUNITY PRIDE. WE ALL KNOW PONY PRIDE AND THEN ECONOMICS AND ECONOMIC AND CITY [00:10:07] IMPACT. IT MAKES THE COMMUNITY MORE ATTRACTIVE TO FAMILIES, SUPPORTS STABLE PROPERTY VALUES AND DRIVES LOCAL ACTIVITIES, AND DEVELOPS FUTURE WORKFORCE SKILLS. NEXT SLIDE. SO THIS IS WHAT WE HAVE RIGHT NOW. THESE ARE THE THE CURRENT SPORTS THAT WE ARE OFFERING. AND YOU CAN SEE OUR CURRENT FEES. SO RIGHT NOW WE'RE CHARGING $95 PER SPORT FOR A STUDENT TO PARTICIPATE. IF THEY'RE ON FREE OR REDUCED EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS FREE AND REDUCED LUNCH, THEY WOULD RECEIVE A REDUCED PRICE IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE. AND THAT ULTIMATELY, IN MY ANALYSIS, WHICH I DID LAST YEAR, BECAUSE OF COURSE, THAT WAS A FULL YEAR, WE FOUND THAT WE HAD 1047 STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN A SPORT, AND THAT OF THOSE, 117 WERE RECEIVING IT AS A FREE, AND 4% WERE AT A REDUCED LEVEL. HAVE YOU MAINTAINED THOSE COSTS FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS? THAT'S CHEAP FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL SPORTS. YEAH, AND THAT'S WHY IT'S BEEN SUBSIDIZED, RIGHT. THAT THAT THAT'S MORE OF A HISTORICAL THING THAT IF YOU WERE TO LOOK AT SCHOOL DISTRICTS AROUND US, MIDDLE SCHOOL SPORTS HAS BEEN IN PLACE. I MEAN, AT LEAST SINCE I'VE BEEN IN SCHOOL AND THAT WAS A LONG TIME AGO. AND THAT ULTIMATELY SCHOOL DISTRICTS HAVE BEEN SUPPORTING IT FOR MANY, MANY YEARS. IT'S PROBABLY IN THE LAST TEN, TEN YEARS THAT I WOULD SAY THAT WE'VE SEEN IT START TO SHIFT OVER TO COMMUNITY ED, BECAUSE IT HAS BECOME A FINANCIAL BURDEN FOR SCHOOL DISTRICTS. SO, OH, CAN YOU GO BACK JUST ONE SLIDE. CITIES ARE NATURAL. OH, I'M SORRY WE DID THAT. WE'RE ON TO THE NEXT ONE. YOU'RE RIGHT. ENSURING EQUITY AND ACCESS. SO WE WANTED TO MAKE SURE. SO WE SURVEYED OUR FAMILIES FAMILIES. WHEN THEY HEARD ABOUT THIS CHANGE, THEY EXPRESSED SOME CONCERN. AS YOU CAN IMAGINE, THEY WEREN'T SURE WHAT TO EXPECT. THEY'VE SEEN IN OTHER COMMUNITIES THAT SPORTS HAVE BEEN CUT. THEY'VE SEEN PRICES SKYROCKET. ALL KINDS OF DIFFERENT THINGS HAPPEN. AND SO THEY THEY REACHED OUT TO US SAYING, HEY, WE'RE REALLY WORRIED ABOUT THIS. I WILL MENTION THAT THIS WAS THROUGH THE COURSE OF A DISCUSSION ABOUT BUDGET CUTS THAT INCLUDED THINGS LIKE, WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TO ELIMINATE FOREIGN TEACHERS OUT OF OUR CLASSROOMS. THIS IS WHAT WE HEARD ABOUT OUR MIDDLE SCHOOL SPORTS. THAT'S WHAT THE COMMUNITY WAS IMMEDIATELY ENGAGED IN AND CONCERNED ABOUT. SO WE WANTED TO ENSURE EQUITY AND EQUITY OF ACCESS AS A RESULT, IN PART BECAUSE OUR COMMUNITY SAID THAT WHEN WE SURVEYED THEM, THEY SAID, YOU KNOW WHAT, IF YOU DON'T HAVE TRANSPORTATION, OUR KIDS AREN'T GOING TO BE ABLE TO GET TO THOSE SPORTING ACTIVITIES AFTER SCHOOL. AND WE DON'T WANT THOSE KIDS THAT ARE ON FREE AND REDUCED TO NOT BE ABLE TO BE THERE, BECAUSE THAT DOESN'T SEEM FAIR TO US. MAKES ME FEEL GOOD THAT OUR COMMUNITY BELIEVES THAT. RIGHT? SO, SO WE WANTED WE DIDN'T WANT TO RISK LIMITING PARTICIPATION BASED ON INCOME AND COMMUNITY SUPPORTED PROGRAMS, ENSURE ALL STUDENTS CAN PARTICIPATE. SO. AND I NEGLECTED TO MENTION ON THE LAST SLIDE. SO THE COST WE'RE PROJECTING FOR NEXT SCHOOL YEAR, IF IF WE MAINTAINED A FREE AND REDUCED PRICE, BUT THAT WE CHARGED THE FULL COST OF THE PROGRAM, IT WOULD BE $285 FOR THE FULL PAYING STUDENT. RIGHT. WE WOULD STILL HAVE A FREE AND FREE IS NO LONGER FREE. I'M AFRAID THERE IS A COST ASSOCIATED WITH THAT. RIGHT NOW. WE'RE CONTEMPLATING A $25 FEE FOR OUR FREE STUDENTS AND THEN REDUCED WITH FALL SOMEWHERE IN THERE ALONGSIDE THAT, BUT THAT WE DON'T WE DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO PROVIDE IT AT THAT COST. SO I AM VISITING WITH A NUMBER OF ORGANIZATIONS, INCLUDING OUR CITY COUNCILS, AND THAT CITIES ARE A NATURAL PARTNER. AGAIN, IN MY RESEARCH, TALKING WITH ANOTHER SCHOOL DISTRICT THAT'S RECEIVING RECEIVING SOME RECREATION DOLLARS THAT THE CITY HAS LEVIED IN ORDER TO SUPPORT PROGRAMING AND COMMUNITY EDUCATION IN THAT PARTICULAR SITUATION, THEY AREN'T THEY AREN'T DIRECTING IT TOWARDS MIDDLE SCHOOL SPORTS PARTICULARLY, BUT WE WOULD HAVE THAT ABILITY TO DO THAT IN THIS SITUATION BECAUSE IT WOULD BE NEW, NEW FUNDING. AND WE COULD SAY THIS IS SPECIFICALLY DIRECTED TOWARDS THAT PROGRAM. AND SO I'M ASKING CITIES AND ORGANIZATIONS. I MET WITH THE BAY PORT LIONS CLUB. THEY'VE ALREADY COMMITTED $1,000 A YEAR FOR THE NEXT FIVE YEARS TO SUPPORT THIS PROGRAM. I'M VISITING WITH A NUMBER OF OTHERS AS WELL, AND APPLYING FOR ANYWHERE I CAN FIND FUNDS TO TRY AND BRING THIS DOWN, BUT THAT ULTIMATELY, I'M HOPING THAT YOU WILL CONSIDER A TAX LEVY THAT WOULD ALLOW US TO BRING DOWN THOSE COSTS. SO IF YOU GO TO THE NEXT SLIDE, IT PRETTY MUCH SUMMARIZES THAT. SO ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS FOR ME? VIA A ROLL? I THOUGHT THE VA WAS RUNNING ALL THESE JUNIOR HIGH SPORTS. SO THEY'RE SO MIDDLE SCHOOL SPORTS TYPICALLY PLAYS A ROLE OF, I WOULD SAY, MORE RECREATIONAL THAN A STUDENT WHO IS INTENDING TO GO ON TO ADVANCED SPORTS. AND THAT VAR TENDS TO ATTRACT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE PLANNING MAYBE MORE OF A CAREER OF SPORTS. RIGHT. AND SO WHEREAS MIDDLE SCHOOL SPORTS IS KIND OF THAT CATCH ALL FIRST EXPERIENCE, AND YOU MIGHT FIND SOME STUDENTS THAT SAY, HEY, I REALLY LOVE THIS, FIND THAT THEY HAVE A KNACK FOR IT AND MIGHT GO ON TO MIDDLE TO HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS THAT IT DOESN'T, IT DOESN'T ALWAYS ATTRACT THOSE INDIVIDUALS. ANOTHER REASON WHY WE WANT TO KEEP THE COSTS DOWN. ONE OTHER THING, MAYBE THIS HAS CHANGED SINCE I WORKED WITH HOWARD DURAN. THAT'S HOW LONG AGO I WAS WORKING. THE STATE ALWAYS GAVE AN ALLOTMENT FOR COMMUNITY ED. THEY DO WHAT? CAN I DO THAT ANYMORE? NOPE. THEY STILL GIVE COMMUNITY ED DOLLARS. SO WITH THAT, WE'VE BEEN IN, YOU KNOW, BEGINNING TALKS WITH THE COUNTY AGAIN JUST YESTERDAY ABOUT POSSIBLY FORMING SOME SORT OF TASK FORCE, HIGHWAY 36, WHERE WE HAVE MNDOT AND THE COUNTY IN OAK PARK HEIGHTS AND STILLWATER INVOLVED IN, YOU KNOW, WORKING TOWARDS A SOLUTION. AND IT'S SOMETHING THAT THE COUNTY HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL WITH AND SOMETHING THAT MAYBE SHOULDN'T WAIT 20 PLUS YEARS, BUT MASSIVE PROJECT, MASSIVE UNDERTAKING, ANYTHING WE CAN THROW AT IT. I MEAN, EVEN THOSE RUMBLE STRIPS TO KIND OF LIKE ALERT FOLKS THAT, HEY, YOU'RE COMING UP ON SOMETHING THAT I SEE SOMETIMES SIGN ON THE OVERPASS. I JUST DON'T WANT TO HAVE THIS MEETING [00:35:03] AND FIND OUT THAT, YOU KNOW, SOMEBODY'S KID GOT SMACKED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD THERE BECAUSE LIKE WE KEEP HEARING IN LAKE ELMO, SOMEBODY'S LOOKING AT THEIR CELL PHONE AND IT'S A TRACTOR TRAILER INTO, SO WHY AREN'T WE PUSHING MNDOT? AND ONCE YOU CAN DO THAT ON A PROJECT, IT MAKES IT A STRONG CANDIDATE FOR FOR FUNDING BEYOND WHAT WE'VE ALREADY SECURED FROM THE STATE. SO, SO DEFINITELY A SUCCESS. WE BROUGHT AN $8.6 MILLION PROJECT TO THE STATE LEGISLATURE. MAYOR PRESENTED THEIR GOOD JOB. I YEP. [00:40:07] SO IT'S NO THAT'S A COMPETITIVE PROCESS. RIGHT OFF THE BAT. WE HAVE 50% OF A $9 MILLION PROJECT COVERED. AND SO THAT THAT'S GOING TO ACCELERATE A LOT OF OUR EFFORTS. RIGHT OF WAY IS STILL A WILD CARD DEPENDING ON HOW WE APPROACH THINGS THAT THAT SIDE ROAD BY 36 IN THE BANK, SOME BUSINESSES MIGHT WANT IT, SOME MIGHT NOT. IT'S KIND OF WIDE RIGHT NOW. AND SO THE ESTIMATES THAT WE'VE USED HAVE BEEN MORE CONCEPTUAL. WE'LL REFINE THOSE. THEN WE'LL LOOK AT RIGHT OF WAY IMPACTS, HOW TO MINIMIZE RIGHT OF WAY IMPACTS AND THEN GET COSTS. BUT RIGHT OF WAY IS STILL A WILD CARD. WE'RE GOING TO APPLY FOR ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION FUNDS, $3.5 MILLION. WE'RE GOING TO DO THAT AT THE END OF THIS MONTH. WELL, THE COUNCIL APPROVED AN APPLICATION FOR A COMPREHENSIVE SAFETY PLAN THAT'LL SET US UP FIRST. IT'S A GOOD ENDEAVOR IN AND OF ITSELF, AND IT'LL BE A GOOD PROCESS TO LOOK AT THE CITY COMPREHENSIVELY FROM A SAFETY STANDPOINT AND TRANSPORTATION. IT ALSO SETS US UP REALLY WELL TO GO AFTER FEDERAL DOLLARS FOR REGIONAL SOLICITATION FUNDS. SO THAT WILL CREATE LIKE A CHECKLIST OF, OF PROJECTS REALLY AND, AND SET US UP NICE FOR EVEN MORE SUCCESSFUL OUTSIDE FUNDING. SO THEN, AND THEN WE'RE ALSO APPLYING FOR A PLANNING GRANT FOR A CITY WIDE BIKE AND PEDESTRIAN PLAN. SO IT'S A LOT OF PLANS, BUT BY COMPLETING THIS ONE, IT PUTS US IN A STRONGER POSITION FOR FUTURE ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION FUNDING. AND SO THAT'S WHERE WE COULD REALLY JUST PICK UP FROM CURB CREST AND GO NORTH. YOU KNOW, THE BIKE PATH IS IN BAD SHAPE ON ONE SIDE. IT DOESN'T HAVE ADA COMPLIANT SLOPES. THERE'S NO SIDEWALK ON THE OTHER SIDE TYING IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND THE BUSINESSES. SO IT'S LIKE HIGHWAY 55 IN THE WEST METRO, THE HIGHWAYS GOING NORTH, SOME IN DAKOTA AND SCOTT COUNTY. IN TERMS OF THE NORTHEAST METRO, IT'S REALLY JUST US. AND SO IT'S GOING TO BE AN ATTRACTIVE PROJECT BECAUSE IF YOU LOOK AT THE OTHER CORRIDORS, THEY HAVE TO DO MULTIPLE PROJECTS WHERE IT'LL BE IT'D BE A HUGE PROJECT TO ADDRESS 36 MONUMENTAL. BUT ONCE THAT'S DONE, 36 IS IN GOOD SHAPE FROM MINNEAPOLIS TO INTO WISCONSIN TO NEW RICHMOND. SO YEAH, AND THIS IS JUST HIGHLIGHTING WHERE THE AT GRADE INTERSECTIONS ARE ON 36, THE REMAINING ONES.
